DART National Leader Gatherings & Trainings
(NOTE: Most expenses for these events are covered for qualifying persons in CLOUT member congregations.  If you are a member of your congregation’s Justice Ministry Network and are interested in applying to attend a DART training event, contact the CLOUT office.)

Advanced Leaders Training Institutes (ALTI):

These gatherings of key clergy & lay leaders from DART-affiliated organizations are for the purpose of preparing for upcoming annual processes within the organizations, including the Listening Process, the Investment Drive, and the Research to Action Process. 

  • May 15-17, 2023, Cincinnati — Investment Drive

  • November 16-18, 2023 (location TBA) — Research to Action Process 

Clergy Conference:

  • February 6-8, 2024, Orlando

  • This three-day conference is designed to foster relationships among clergy throughout the DART Network, while providing a training ground for a prophetic ministry of justice. Keynote speakers in the past have included: Drs. Walter Brueggemann, Willard Ashley, Robert Linthicum, Johnny Ray Youngblood, Walter Wink, Cardinal Peter K.A. Turkson, Dr. Ray Pickett, Episcopal Presiding Bishop Michael Curry, and others.

Justice Ministry Conference:

  • July 24-28, 2023, Cincinnati

This 5-day conference brings together key clergy & lay leaders from DART-affiliated organizations for training and for practicing the skills necessary for building a powerful, grassroots, multi-issued, congregation-based organization in their community. Veteran organizers lead training sessions on a diverse set of topics beginning with the biblical basis for justice work, continuing by developing an understanding of, and skills in, such topics as one-to-one meetings, issue development, and fund-raising, and concluding with a role play of a direct action.
